LASH EXTENSION AFTERCARE

To keep your lashes healthy and looking their best, it's crucial to follow proper aftercare practices.

New Lash Protocol

It is imperative to avoid exposing the eyelash extensions to moisture for a minimum of 24 to 48 hours subsequent to the application.

Daily Brushing

Utilize a clean spoolie or lash brush to gently comb through the lashes. This practice will help maintain organization and prevent tangling.

Gentle Cleansing

It is essential to cleanse the lashes daily using a lash-safe cleanser, as opposed to baby shampoo, to effectively remove makeup, dirt, and debris. This routine assists in preventing infections and ensures that the extensions remain in optimal condition.

Schedule Regular Touch-Ups

It is highly advisable to book regular fill appointments every 2-3 weeks with your lash technician to maintain the desired fullness and shape of the lash extensions.

Minimize Exposure To Heat

Excessive heat exposure, such as that from hot showers, steam rooms, saunas, hot yoga, and hot tubs, can compromise the adhesive bond of lash extensions. It is advisable to avoid even seemingly minor activities, such as opening the kitchen oven, as the resultant heat waves may adversely affect the integrity of the lash extensions..

Be Gentle

It is vital to avoid rubbing, picking, or pulling at the lashes, as such actions may cause damage to the natural lashes and contribute to the premature shedding of extensions.

Prevent Direct Water Contact

Running water should not come into contact directly with the lashes.

Optimal Sleeping Position

To prevent pressure on the lashes, it is recommended to sleep on one's back. Utilizing a silk pillowcase may further reduce friction.

Avoid Mechanical Curlers

The use of mechanical eyelash curlers is strongly discouraged.

Refrain from Oil-Based Products

Oil-based products have the potential to compromise the adhesive utilized for securing lash extensions, resulting in premature loss of the extensions. It is advisable to avoid oil-based makeup removers, cleansers, and certain skincare products near the eye area.

Avoid Mascara, Particularly Waterproof Formulations

Waterproof mascara is often challenging to remove and typically necessitates oil-based removers, which are not advisable for use with lash extensions.

Exercise Caution with Eye Drops

If the use of eye drops is required, it is crucial to take precautions to avoid direct contact with the eyelash extensions.

Avoid Tinting and Perming

Eyelash extensions should never be subjected to tinting or perming under any circumstances.

Lash Serum Consideration

The use of a lash serum can nourish and strengthen natural lashes, promoting growth and resilience. It is important to choose an oil-free formula, as oils may interfere with the adhesive used for eyelash extensions, leading to premature loss. When applying serum with extensions, it should be placed at the base of the natural lashes to avoid contact with the extensions.
